The minimum wage has gone up - have you checked your pay?

The minimum wage has risen from £10.42 to £11.44. This applies to workers over 21, rather than over 23 as it was before.

18-20 the new rate is £8.60
Under 18 the new rate is £6.40
For Apprentices the new rate is £6.40

The government wants to reintroduce fees for the Employment Tribunal. We think this is wrong.

The thing is, this will only get worse unless there are significant changes. As homeownership increasingly becomes dynastic - inherited wealth a necessary precondition - the numbers of older private renters have been and will continue to rise. The PRS will not meet their needs.

Court backlogs in many courts are very real. However, the system isn't uniform: evictions are progressing efficiently, with many tenants going from eviction notice to bailiff in just a few months, partly thanks to the #Section21 'accelerated procedure'. Journalists, take heed!
