Over and out. My last standalone shift on 24 hour @bbcnews. Started on night shifts in 1997 - couldn’t count how many hours of live broadcasting I’ve done! Good luck to wonderful colleagues for their new venture. Really excited to be moving permanently to the @bbcone bulletins.

I met a customer today who told me they used our offer of free dry cleaning for their interview…and they got the job!

I say this every time this scheme reopens but this is a brilliant scheme from The Guardian and Observer. Helped me in my career and many more so definitely worth an application. Good luck if you apply 🤞
