Interesting range of views. As usual Iain Miller makes a good point. Notice the bringing of claims is not dealt with. legalfutures.co.uk/latest-news/la…

Delighted to admit three people to Freedom of Company and clothe one person with Livery. We’d be pleased to hear from anyone who works as a solicitor in or Canary Wharf who would be interested in getting involved. Don’t wait to be asked -you’re already invited.

Great summary by Jordan Furlong of the issues legal regulators (sorry Jordan) are facing. Having attended a number of ICLRs I am always struck by the universality of the problems they face.

Open plan setups, more working from home make it harder for trainees to learn from more senior people they work for, so more need to teach ethics

I went to Steven Vaughan’s lecture expecting intellectual stimulation. I did not anticipate how moving it would be. Great job Steven, UCL Faculty of Laws are lucky to have you.

Great session chaired by Richard Moorhead which demonstrated how far the debate around legal ethics within the profession has developed in the last few years.

It is difficult to overstate the importance of the work of the IBA in highlighting the issue of bullying and sexual harassment in the global legal profession. Brilliant work Kieran Pender and great leadership by Sara Carnegie. The IBA News at its best.

A lot to unpack and question in the latest SRA consultation on its fining powers. Key point for today is that the SRA now has the power to fine any solicitor or traditional law firm up to £25k even if it relates to something that happened many years ago.
