#PCBs have shown to cause a variety of adverse health effects like cancer, as well as a number of serious non-cancer health effects in animals, including: effects on the immune system, reproductive system, nervous system, endocrine system and other health effects

The PCBs_ESM&Disposal_Project project will establish Model #PCBs collection and treatment centers, which will receive consignments of #PCBs and PCBs containing electrical equipment form ‘#PCBs holders’ for the purpose of sound disposal / treatment.

Coming in contact with #PCBs does not mean you will get sick or have health problems. Getting sick from being exposed to #PCBs depends on: the amount of #PCBs that entered your body, how long you were exposed to #PCBs, and how sensitive your body is to #PCBs.

The PCBs_ESM&Disposal_Project will Identify the most cost-effective, commercially available technologies that meet Stockholm convention req. At least 1,500 MT of PCB-contaminated equipment (including oil) & 200 MT of pure PCB waste will be properly treated/disposed of using env. sound tech.
