Newly out: Verity Wilson’s exciting new book, Dressing Up: A History of Fancy Dress in Britain, published by Reaktion Books I’ve been looking forward to this for ages. First I’m savouring the images… Look at these men dressed as a 1920s council estate!
A recent event Worthing Theatres and Museum brought researchers together to share new work on the history of children’s clothes including Nicola miles whose PhD research University of Brighton The Centre for Design History on Clothkits uses Worthing collections. 2022 was the year that our Arts and Humanities Research Council funded network on children's dress brought together brilliant scholars, curators and practitioners in 3 wonderful workshops. All the presentations, covering the 3 events are now available on the project website: notonlydressed.com
