James Downs How people frame their own process is informed by current views on the illness: talking about being 'in recovery' as if 'recovered' is a term that doesn't apply to EDs. I believe professionals should drive more evidence-based & optimistic expectations of medical recovery.

Schools, sports clubs please take note! This is very real and something we've heard before from clients.

Really unhelpful. Stigmatising and categorising foods into 'good' and 'bad' can be the beginning of developing an eating disorder for some young people. Language and messaging matters!

Excellent 👏 One of the important points raised 'don't assume' on many levels- the person's physical, psychological state or how a person's eating disorder came to be.

We all have to be mindful we're not colluding with the eating disorder. Speak the truth. It's protective not punitive.
