Good news from Brussels:
The EU introduces humanitarian exemptions in 10 autonomous sanctions regimes, a landmark decision for IHL and humanitarian efforts worldwide.

📢 Under IHL, parties to the conflict must ensure the basic needs of the population are met. As hostilities resume, civilians must be protected.

Our colleague Hisham shared the following messages from #Gaza during the past days of ceasefire.

We’re glad to inform that 8 people who were being held hostage in Gaza have just been released, with facilitation from the ICRC.

Our teams have transferred them and handed them over to the Israeli authorities.

This is possible thanks to our neutral intermediary role.
