Ottawa employees visited the University of Notre Dame Environmental Research Center for a joint training with Nortre Dame personal. Aspirus MedEvac covered safety, procedures, and brought the helicopter to better prepare attendees in the event the medical evacuation by helicopter

Wrapping up summer trapping at UNDERC and thought I’d post another #MeetAMouse. This fellow is 0659-0660, tagged just over a year ago! He’s from the infamous Storage grid, which was ravaged by a microburst in 2016. New fast-growing vegetation provides awesome habitat for mice!

Ecologist Nate Swenson and his team are studying the tree canopy in Wisconsin to match what can be seen in a single pixel from the International Space Station with the actual measurements taken on the ground. The work will help predict forest health: go.nd.edu/8491fb

Measuring tree health currently involves tediously taking samples to measure the chemical & structural content in a single leaf. But what if you could fly a plane or satellite over a forest & get the same readings? ND research is helping make it happen: go.nd.edu/8491fb
