We are advocating for a native forest which is climate smart & people friendly. Not all green is equal. Manicured gardens will do very little for the city. Canopies will create habitats, shade for use throughout the day. It an opportunity of a lifetime and we can’t let it pass.

We can’t wait to see it turn into a 100 percent native forest that is people friendly - with walking and cycling trails, spaces for rest and play. We need something that is climate smart and not a manicured, ornamental ‘green’ space. We need a green space that protects and heals.

The Coastal Forest is imagined to make space for every Mumbaikar: walkers, cyclists, nature enthusiasts, children and families. It's a place for students and youth to spend time in nature, hangout and play, and for elders to find shade and quiet.
