It is with deep sorrow that I announce the tragic loss of Muhand AbdElrahman, a dedicated social welfare officer with the Sudanese Red Crescent in Dar Elsalam. Muhand lost his life on

Today, we learned of the death of Bashir Shuaib, a volunteer with the SudaneseRedCrescent. He was killed while attending to his first aid duties. He was killed while helping others. I send our deepest condolences to his beloved friends and family.

Days like today make me so proud of our volunteers and staff. It is during the most difficult crises and when we help those who need it most, that I am reminded of what it means to be a Red Crosser. Thank you Kenya Red Cross and IFRC

Riding in boats on the swollen waters, I learned how teams perform life-saving rescues to help the stranded. I met displaced people who have shelter & food thanks to Red Cross efforts. In these times of need, Kenya Red Cross and IFRC are here to help those in need.
