What is a pond?! We’re excited to announce our new publication rdcu.be/cP6tH in Scientific Reports that compiles existing scientific and legal pond definitions, compares how ponds functionally compare to lakes and wetlands, and proposes an evidence-based pond definition. 1/n

I'm thrilled to share a new article by a fantastic team about how freshwater salinization impacts not only the ecology, but also the biogeochemistry, of wetlands, especially understudied urban wetlands: aslopubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/lo…

Following Sackett v EPA oral arguments today. #Wetlands protect water quality downstream, store floodwaters and provide so many other ecosystem services. While the legal arguments are confusing, the science is clear.
