Recycling plays a valuable part in further developing HMP Ashfield’s wildlife garden. Our prisoner-made bug hotel was made from reclaimed items from around the prison, mostly old pallet wood and rabbit hutches saved from the skip. moj #SercoAndProud

At HMP Ashfield, we create A LOT of compost from the prison! This Is used to maintain the large number of plants in our horticultural area, which reduces our dependence on artificial or bought in fertilisers and our carbon footprint. moj

More Community Payback schemes will focus on sustainability🌎 Last week offenders supervised by probation worked with Trees for Cities to plant trees to improve neighbourhoods during their unpaid work. They smashed their day 1 target by planting 600 trees🌳 #QueensGreenCanopy

Offenders in West Yorkshire are making a positive contribution to their community. An unpaid work team have turned bare and derelict land into a thriving allotment with produce being donated to homeless shelters and local foodbanks🥔🥒
