Great list of books on economic inequality specifically. But books on social class specifically notable for their absence. What would you add?

Is it just me or is it the most Irish thing ever that the Taoiseach attended the grand opening of a *checks notes* garden centre?

Really looking forward to reading this. There are loads of qualitative studies of renting in English speaking countries but barely any for continental Europe

Good piece on economic inequality deriving from the unregulated landlord-tenant relation. Based on a very interesting paper by Kholodolin and Kohl (2023) on the negative relationship between strong rent controls and inequality.

HUGE win for members Grace and Aaron, who were violently evicted from their home 7 months ago.

The RTB has declared the eviction ILLEGAL!

It also ordered the landlord Mircea Macavei to pay €5,250 in damages to Grace and Aaron!

The neoliberal university captured in a single photo. Individual empowerment discourse, pabulum about community ('our Texas'), and the coercive apparatus of the state.

Carlos had to dedicate two years of his life to get any form of justice.

I know from working with him that doors were slammed in his face every step of the way.

If this is what a renter has to go through to seek accountability then the system is broken.

Thanks to UCD Students' Union pres Martha Ní Riada for expressing the views of many UCD staff yesterday. It was great to see so many people at the protest outside too. Anything that can be done to highlight the pivotal role of the US at the moment is worth doing

Absolutely delighted to see our research funded by Battersea Public Affairs covered in a lovely article by The Times and The Sunday Times. Pet ownership brings joy to many households, and our research provides the economics to dispel the myths of risk for landlords and shows the benefits thetimes.co.uk/article/why-be…
