What do you think have been the latest advancements in #NeuroImaging in #Alzheimer 🧠? Share your thoughts by filling this short survey by June 15, which will help Antoine Leuzy prepare the #AIC Year in Review talk! #AAIC2022 alz.surveymonkey.com/r/3TTKV3P
Join our virtual session on "Myelin changes and associated microglia activation as drivers of Alzheimer’s disease" today at 11.15 am PDT #AAIC2022 . Talks by A. Kohli from Bendlin Lab Dr. Constanze Depp Oskar Harari Oscar Harari and twitterless Mikael Simons DZNE Research Center
Today in nature we show that cholesterol dysregulation in oligodendrocytes of Apoe4 carriers impairs axonal myelination. Cyclodextrin ameliorates the defects. Proud of lead authors Joel W. Blanchard, Leyla Akay, Djuna von Maydell, Jose Davila Velderrain picower.mit.edu/news/alzheimer…
Just out in Nat Rev Neurology! With Morelia Monje Mora, Ankita Batra, Lucy Xu. We review key discoveries & remaining questions to understand how myelin plasticity supports normal function & becomes dysregulated in neurological diseases. Check it out! In this study published in Nature Aging: nature.com/articles/s4358… we measured sTREM2 and the DAM2 markers AXL, MERTK, GAS6, LPL, CST7, SPP1 and CSF1 in the CSF of non-demented individuals, who underwent longitudinal amyloid-PET, tau-PET and cognitive assessment.
Our new paper shows polygenic risk score comprising 85 lead AD-risk SNPs to be associated with enhanced effect of amyloid on the rate of tau PET accumulation, and cognitive decline. Thanks to lead author Anna Rubinski & Rainer Malik, Simon Frerich Nico Franzmeier tinyurl.com/576vd4um
My hunch is this new lesion connectome-predictive modeling approach by Jiefeng Jiang published yesterday in Nature Communications will become the next generation of lesion network mapping. Seems very promising at this early stage. nature.com/articles/s4146…
How does the complex wiring of brain networks shape communication between neural elements? Check out our review in Nature Rev Neurosci for the latest on brain network communication models! w/ Olaf Sporns & Andrew Zalesky nature.com/articles/s4158… 🧵...
New paper on connectomics, MAPT gene expression and amyoid PET to explain regional tau PET! tinyurl.com/22papw8x. Dovetails with our proposed model in Nature Rev Neurosci tinyurl.com/2vs8ah23. Special thanks to Lukai Zheng, Nico Franzmeier, BioFINDER, and Eli Lilly and Company
