I would urge Canadians to consider some kind of observation. Be mournful on Remembrance Day, wave the flag on Canada Day, and reflect on TR day. There are people who want to politicize all three of those, but I've never had trouble ignoring them. nationalpost.com/news/canada/ha…

New CIRNA Minister Gary Anandasangaree is no stranger to the file, having sat on the Indigenous & Northern Affairs Committee for six years.

He knows the government's agenda & is well regarded by many leaders already.

The second part of the resolution directed:

• The AFN Executive to select an interim National Chief from amongst themselves and;

• Hold an election for a new National Chief in December 2023

Six months is a short campaign, we should be hearing names very soon.

As someone who works closely with elders,ppl really need to rethink how to include them meaningfully. I once drove 40 minutes to pick up an elder, another 40 to take him to the event where they asked him to pray and welcome people- then said “thx you can go now!” He was so tired.

It may surprise some, but there is no question Justin Trudeau has made investing in Indigenous priorities one of the single largest things the Govt of Canada has done since 2015.
