Very little shocks me these days, but in his latest piece for Premier Christianity, Liberal Democrats MP Tim Farron writes this.
Even as a Christian myself (albeit a different one to Tim), I find this grossly offensive.
Tim doesn't speak for all (even most?) Christians.

Andrew Stunell was a steadfast liberal to the very core of his being & a pioneering community campaigner who we were proud to call a true friend & colleague. RIP

Very sad to learn that Andrew Stunell has died. He was one of several Chief Whips I worked for, with a wonderful sense of mischief and a twinkle in his eye. He provided much wise counsel over the years and his kindness and friendship meant a lot. Much love to Gillian and family.

A stark reminder today of how much we owe our emergency services.
Though they are often let down by a government that doesn't value them anywhere near enough, they run to danger when everyone else understandably runs from it.
We always owe them so much.

What awful news. A genuinely lovely man, saw him just a couple of months ago and he seemed on top form.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Andrew, Lord Stunell, former Lib Dem MP for Hazel Grove 1997-2015.

Andrew was a cornerstone of NW Lib Dems, frequently giving a Lords' report at Regional Conference. Our region will be poorer for his absence.
May he rest in peace.
