The reality is those of us who had her attend a staff meeting virtually for 10 minutes with three specific questions have not seen ANY systemic change that would improve working conditions/student learning environments. No reduced class sizes, extra supports, reduced violence,

ICYMI. If Nova Scotia Gov. could spare some of their laser focus on virtual doctors working for private companies, we'd like them to join us in supporting NS Teachers Union members and properly fund the education our children need and deserve. Make a real offer NS Education and Early Childhood Development.

NS families are just as frustrated as teachers with the violence, lack of in class supports, large class sizes, lack of mental health supports, etc. At least with elected school boards there was accountability. Now it is toxic positivity and no meaningful change.

More gaslighting from this Nova Scotia PC Party government:
“This vote is only a distraction that has caused confusion and anxiety for students and their families.”

Time to get to work NS Education and Early Childhood Development - Becky’s email to parents tonight stated you were concerned about parent uncertainty. We want safe and supportive classrooms for our children and their teachers; this is your responsibility.

.Becky Druhan speaks to staff across the province, who are first warned not to bring up anything controversial or challenging to government programs. How honest do you think conversations with NS Teachers Union members actually are?

The teacher retention crisis, the teacher recruitment crisis, lack of substitute teachers, and school violence aren’t the issues; they’re the symptoms.

Does NS Education and Early Childhood Development Becky Druhan honestly believe that parents are this naive? We want safe, productive and supportive classrooms for our children. We want teachers/ staff who are well supported and not burnt out. I stand with NS Teachers Union and support our teachers.

This shouldn’t be surprising, government knows that wraparound supports work. Simply having a home can solve so many health issues. It would be cheaper to provide housing than ongoing, complex healthcare for these individuals.

Right now a patient is told when their records are accessed by HCWs not connected to the patient. Will we be told when the Nova Scotia PC Party Nova Scotia Gov. Health & Wellness access our medical records going forward? NS Human Rights how do you feel about this bill?

What am I going to post about now that the spring session at the leg has ended?

Youth and education!

Since there was barely a mention in the leg. Ugh!

NS schools are in desperate need of the same wrap around supports our communities are missing.

How will the Nova Scotia PC Party feel when their personal health records are available for the next government’s health minister to look at?! This is absolutely disgusting behaviour of a government.

We may not be seeing as many tents in HRM but hiding homelessness doesn’t solve homelessness. So far this month we’ve had 65 calls from people –some with kids– with no safe place to go. We’re supporting 105 families with 197 children every night in hotels and shelter diversion

When I teach professionals, I sometimes put them in groups to discuss and take notes. I specifically name that women are overwhelmingly called upon to serve as recorders, so I ask that every group assign a man to do this. The reactions are *wild*. Regularly, one man makes a 1/x
