1. For this week’s The Spectator I interviewed as many hospice staff as I could, and found an extraordinary strength of feeling about the Leadbeater bill. Amy Proffitt, former president of the Association for Palliative Medicine, says: ‘It has the potential to destroy the sector.’
I’m hearing MPs are being reassured that their issues / concerns with the assisted dying Bill - such as Royal College of Physicians Royal College of Psychiatrists saying it’s not safe - can be ‘sorted out in the Lords’. MPs - if you do not believe that the Bill as it stands on Friday is safe, don’t vote for it.
This is an impressive statement by Ash Regan MSP. A glimpse or an institution functioning at the level that it ought to do far more often.
My Credo column in today’s The Times and The Sunday Times: God is an inconvenient truth in debate on assisted death.
Thanks for your comments on assisted suicide, ALASTAIR CAMPBELL and Rory Stewart , referencing your interview with Kim Leadbeater With the bill moving to the Lords, I'd love to hear a similar interview with someone like Tanni Grey-Thompson Would you consider this?
This is excellent from Fabian Yii 🌟
