🤞We are wishing our Deputy Principal, Viv Buckley (she/her), the very best of luck at the WFCP 2022 World Congress Awards of Excellence. Viv is nominated in the 'Outstanding Educator' category, which we already think she is! #WFCP2022 #TVET #Excellence

I first met this wonderful human when she first became teacher. I knew then that she was special. To see her develop into this magnificent educator, has been a pure joy. We need more Viv Buckley (she/her) s. Recognised as the best IN THE WORLD! #globalviv

I feel so privileged to have been able to work at Hornstrandir last week. Breathtakingly beautiful scenery combined with amazing wildlife, including abundant arctic foxes and many species of seabird. The driftwood here is thought to come from Siberia.

Had a great time helping Welsh Water staff with their grassland surveys at the lovely Llys-y-frân. Fingers crossed that the green hay strewing works as planned and we can find even more species next year.

Proud day today for INCC. Day 1 of marsh fritillary larval web surveys at Llantrisant Common and already 53 webs found. And still a huge area left to survey over the coming days. Thank you so much to the graziers at the common, funders and all our volunteers and supporters.

First volunteer session of the new academic year. We had to fell some dead ash that is near a footpath, so it was the perfect excuse to create another reptile hibernacula!

The left that is sick of the government now seems to include Jamie Oliver, the Archbishop of Canterbury, the BBC's financial expert, most Conservative MPs, Match of the Day, taxi drivers, the banks and the King. We'll move on to animals next, and then to items of furniture.

It's been an emotional weekend. Mixed with the joy of graduation is the thoughtfulness and kindness of our students. Together they raised money in memory of the legendary Jeff Roberts to dedicate a woodland to him with hundreds left to donate to nature conservation charities. 💚

Thanks to Coleg Penybont | Bridgend College conservation volunteers and local landowner for planting 1,000+ scabious plugs on Saturday to help restore a marshy grassland in Tonyrefail. Restoring habitat in the landscape is the best way to secure the future for marsh fritillary locally. Thank you.

This was such a fun and rewarding event that it was such a privilege to be a part of. From water vole surveys to cooking on the campfire there was never a dull moment. Massive thank you to CefnGarthenor, INCC and Coleg Penybont | Bridgend College Conservation Volunteers.

Today our level 3 Wildlife and Countryside students completed a footbridge they've been working on for several sessions. I'm so impressed with the quality of their work, such a talented and hard working group of people.

Some will undoubtedly misinterpret our views here to mean that public safety isn't important (it is!) BUT it's also important that any proposed works to coal tips is done as sensitively as possible to ensure that threatened species/habitats are not lost during a nature crisis

Thanks so much for coming Liam, it was a brilliant talk and the students loved it. So impressed by your knowledge, as always.
