It's not right that people on low incomes are more likely to have long-term health conditions. We need a social security system that provides protection, improves health and ensures everyone can afford the essentials they need to survive. 💚

More families are turning to food banks just to get by. But this can change. The Poverty Strategy Commission Interim Report highlights that we need action from the government, businesses and communities. This must include a social security system that supports us all fully. 💚

🧵 No one should have to recycle a tea bag to have a cup of tea. ☕💚 Yet East Lothian Foodbank saw a lady who's income was so low she was having to re-use the same tea bag 6 times to have a cup of tea. And across the UK, food banks are telling us similar stories.
