After a decade or more of decay and being fenced off, Inverary pier has been re-opened by a vigorous community group. The local pipe band kicked off the celebrations. And the sun shined on Bonnie Argyll.

An idyllic spring day in the Hebrides spent largely in and around Corran Sands on Jura. Nothing hurried. Now to try and get the wood fire to heat up the hot tub in time for sunset.

What a braw day on Jura. We’ve walked on the sands, swum in the sea, played tunes on the pipe installation, prospected for gin amongst other things. The Paps are one step too far for me this trip but one for the future.
