NOTICE OF STREET CLOSURE E 17th Street between Garfield Avenue and Cleveland Avenue will be closed between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily beginning on Thursday, September 15, 2022, through Thursday, September 22, 2022. This closure is necessary for sewer repair.

NOTICE OF LANE CLOSURE The eastbound lane of Broadway Avenue from E 29th Street to Hubbell Avenue will be closed beginning Monday, April 24, 2023, through Thursday, November 30, 2023. Westbound traffic will be maintained.

Prior to the pandemic I held regular "Chats with Linda". The pandemic brought an end to the chats and now it is time to start holding chat time again. My first "chat" will be held Friday May 26 at the McDonalds located at E. 33rd and Euclid. I will be there from 8:30-10 am.

I had a real fun time celebrating 20 years of Clowns at the Carousel in Union Park this past weekend. Also got a chance to visit McHenry Park and chatted with Ward 2 residents about issues of infrastructure development and the importance of community spaces for families.

This past Friday, I had the opportunity to help clean up Fourmile Creek with some lovely volunteers. I will continue to build on the progress that we have made in ensuring the safety of ward 2 from future flooding related disasters.

I am so honored to report that I have been endorsed by the Des Moines Police Burial Association and the Des Moines Police Union. Thanks to Don Ouimet and Matt Harkin for the support of their organizations.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet with students on the City of Des Moines Youth Advisory Board. These smart high school students emphasized the importance of economic opportunities, mental health issues, and community safety. I am glad I got to meet our future leaders!
