Working in Trypanosoma brucei using cell lines derived from Lister 427 strain?
We found several rearrangements in different clones, including full extra chromosome copies🧬, so keep that in mind!. 👀

Lots of fantastic science at the spring meeting! Great to experience and be part of how fast our cumulative knowledge of parasites increases. Happy to get to join the meeting with the rest of the Faria group, pick at some great minds and present our latest exciting data!

Giving day is upon us. The great initiative, , allowed a range of fantastic students to gain real scientific experience over the past summer and get paid doing so, equalizing the playing field from the very beginning. What's not to like/support?

Delayed celebration! 🥳 So super proud of Maddy, she's done an incredible job. Starting with little laboratory experience she became independent in no time! What a star, she will go far I'm confident. Also a shout out to other GenRes students, well done all!

So proud of Maddy! She's already learned a lot and is always inquisitive. Best kind of student I could've wished for. Keen to see what new Trypanosome biology she manages to uncover during her summer project.

The paper is now well and truly out! Thanks a great deal to everyone who has put time, ideas and effort into it. This could not have been achieved without you.

Today marks a year in my first postdoc position (in the fantastic Faria Lab)! 🎉 I could not have wished for a more supportive and kind environment to 'grow up in'. A steep learning curve to change fields at first, but I grew a lot I think. Excited about the years to come 🤩.
