We were kindly lent a bee hive by a member of Ledbury Allotment for the children to look at. They handled the frames & observed the cells. We learned the names of the different bees that live in the hive & looked at a selection of honeycomb. The Ledbury honey was tasty too!

As a beekeeper I don’t think it’s that bad this year. The winter was milder and shorter than last year and the bees came out swarming early this year. We shouldn’t get complacent though, they have enough to contend with.

So pleased my dad showed me the joys of gardening so I could have a garden of pleasure. Helps me relax and escape in these difficult times.

Now these are excellent quality plants, organic and in individual soil blocks. But 6 leeks for £3.00? I didn’t say much, it was hard to breathe actually. Shock affects me that way!
