Today we raised the Swedish flag at #NATO Headquarters & across the Alliance for the 1st time. #Sweden has taken its rightful place at NATO’s table under the shield of Article 5 protection – the ultimate guarantee of our freedom & security. All for one & one for all. Welcome 🇸🇪.

After we proudly welcomed Sweden to NATO, we still had one final step — taking the document that indicates Sweden's desire to join the Alliance to our Treaty Vault.

Along the way, my friend Tobias Billström and I recapped how we got here.

Finally the flag was hoisted today in Brussels to celebrate and mark Sweden’s membership in NATO with the 🇸🇪 national anthem and the Nato-hymn being played. We will be a credible, reliable and engaged member of the Alliance. Thanks to all who helped and showed solidarity

Earlier today, I was with SwedishPM Kristersson as Sweden officially joined NATO. Tonight at #SOTU , President Biden welcomed Sweden to the strongest military alliance the world has ever known.
