➡ Interesting study shared by Inst. of Environmental Assessment & Water Research on the effects produced by illegal #drugs on #Daphnia magna, a model organism used in environmental ecotoxicology and which is also the main purification protagonist of the #BIODAPH technology developed in our project.

📢Last Friday, the #LifeBIODAPH2O project was present at the Open Day at the Faculty of Science of the Universitat de Girona. Our partners carried out a workshop to demonstrate the filtering capacity of #daphnias and their possible uses as tertiary treatment of wastewater💧.

📢 At the end of January, the concentration of #Daphnia individuals in the first #BIODAPH reactor of the pilot plant in Quart (Girona, Spain) was 25.7 Daphnia/L, a great news that shows that the reactor is working properly!

📢 The #BIODAPH reactor at the Antissa demo plant (Greece) was filled with secondary #wastewater of the adjacent WWTP and, now biofilm is growing on the walls & lamellas.

💧 Soon, the 𝘋𝘢𝑝𝘩𝘯𝘪𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘯𝘢 will be inoculated into the #BIODAPH reactor! 🌱

During the event , other innovative #NbS projects were presented (LifeRenaturwat MULTISOURCE 🇪🇺 UPWATER #GiroNat ) & an interesting round table discussion with experts in the water sector and technology transfer on the leap from #research to implementation took place.

🎉Successful inauguration event yesterday of the #BIODAPH reactor installed at the Quart #WWTP (Girona, Catalonia).

👉More than 40 professionals were able to learn about the details of the project and visit and experience the reactor at first hand.
