The Crown Prosecution Service have produced Easy Read versions of their guides for victims of crime and for victims of rape and serious sexual assault. These include pictures and language to make it easier for victims to understand the most important things, making justice more accessible for all.

We have been assured that measures are being taken to ensure serious sexual offenders and violent criminals are not released early from prison. News of a potential loophole is concerning - my team is looking into this to determine whether it needs addressing.

The CPS has issued a statement following the publication of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry phase 2 report.

My thoughts are with the families and survivors of Grenfell and the whole community who continue to suffer grief, anger and injustice after so long. It’s critical that there is now a commitment to much-needed reform.

The publication of the second phase of the Grenfell Inquiry is an important step on the journey to justice for the bereaved, survivors and local community. City Hall will support the police in ensuring those who committed so much wrongdoing are brought to justice.

While all victims on the Victim Contact Scheme (VCS) should have been informed by now of their offender’s release, there will be many for whom today will come as a horrible shock - those who opted out of scheme, weren't aware of it, or not eligible for it. telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/09/0…

This has been a tough decision for Government to make, but ultimately necessary to keep our justice system afloat. A lot of work has been done in London ahead of these releases to prepare and safeguard victims. I will be closely monitoring for any issues ⬇️
