Important Cafcass explain how a man who raped the mother and was already convicted for raping a teenager and is on the sex offenders register was deemed safe to have unsupervised contact with his child? Reform of family courts is long overdue Jess Phillips Alex Davies-Jones MP
The Crown Prosecution Service have produced Easy Read versions of their guides for victims of crime and for victims of rape and serious sexual assault. These include pictures and language to make it easier for victims to understand the most important things, making justice more accessible for all.
Great to meet Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner this morning and to hear how victim-centric her plans are to help improve support and protection of modern slavery victims. Pleased to hear about the good practice of Justice Navigators within Metropolitan Police - a vital service which is needed nationally.
Excerpt from my article ⬇️ which talks about SHERA Research Group: Health Law Rights Support © paper on child sexual abuse (CSA) in the family courts. While all victims on the Victim Contact Scheme (VCS) should have been informed by now of their offender’s release, there will be many for whom today will come as a horrible shock - those who opted out of scheme, weren't aware of it, or not eligible for it. telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/09/0…

In response to the Harm Report in June 2020, the last govt agreed an urgent review of the legal presumption of parental involvement. Four years later, still not progress. Pleased to hear Alex Davies-Jones MP confirm this govt will respond in due course. We owe it to Claire Throssell MBE
