Today KR Black Student Alliance’s Syriana Mbakob shared the story of Lewis Latimer whose advancement to the light bulb helped to keep it longer lasting. Because of his invention of filament, we are able to use lights that help give us comfort and often times keep us more safe #BlackHistoryMonth

To end off the week, KR Black Student Alliance’s Mitchell Echols presented us with Shirley Chisholm who was an American politician, educator, and author. In 1968, she became the first African-American woman elected to the United States Congress #BlackHistoryMonth Kettle Run HS #weareKR 🧡💚

Today, two members of #krhsbsa educated people on Fred Hampton. Hampton was the chairmen of the Black Panther Party from 1966-1969, and brought the KKK and Black Panther Party together to march against police brutality. Happy Black History Month! #BlackHistoryMonth #kettlerun
