In Turkey, garbage collectors opened a library with all the books that people threw in the trash. The library now has 25,000 books. Then, they converted a garbage truck into a mobile library that brings books to local schools.

If you don’t know the connection between Harriet Ball and KIPP. You need to. And it isn’t all flattering. More importantly we need to remember Harriet Ball, master educator who was using engagement and the science of learning before it was a thing. Thanks @BLoveSoulPower for

Effective teachers don't center their approach on rules, but rather on relationships, routines, & expectations. Prioritizing these over rules means spending less time enforcing them. When you invest in relationships, routines, & expectations, rule enforcement becomes less needed

A β€˜turnaround school’ usually reverts back to its steady decline as soon as the most recent β€˜turnaround principal’ leaves. Schools don’t need to be turned around. They need to be anchored in sustainable growth and development that outlives those who lead it. #TrueTransformation
