Great team out today in Kilwinning supporting Mary. Thanks to Carol Mochan MSP Monica Lennon MSP Katy Clark and Jackie Baillie for coming to help
🌹 Great to be out supporting Mary Hume Scottish Labour candidate in the Kilwinning by-election.
Pleased with the positive response on the doorsteps.
Mary will make a fantastic local councillor and work hard to represent the needs of her constituents ✊
VisitScotland’s decision to close all tourist information centres is deeply concerning. Help can't simply be replicated online.
The centres provide specialist local knowledge, helping tourists and supporting local attractions.
📧My letter to Scottish Government:
🌹Great to spend this lovely sunny evening on the doors in Whitehirst with this brilliant team for our amazing candidate Mary Hume 👇

Thanks to Katy Clark and our Scottish Labour volunteers for today’s canvassing in Irvine.
Great response from Labour voters and people fed up with the SNP - switching to Labour for the change Central Ayrshire needs.
Our #GlasgowMayDay 2024 Programme is here! This year’s theme focuses on how we build a movement that is truly internationalist. 🌍 Our programme is a celebration of workers, our stories, communities, shared histories, organising & resistance. All info- linktr.ee/glasgowmayday
This #WomensHistoryMonth celebrate the Kilbirnie strike of women fishing net workers which lasted 22 weeks in 1913
The strike, led by Kate McLean, led to secure pay, union recognition and non-victimisation of strikers ✊
I'm pleased that the Housing Bill is finally published. Living Rent and other campaigners have fought tirelessly for permanent rent controls.
We are in a housing emergency and need stronger interim support for tenants until the rent controls scheme is in place.
Part time college staff numbers has increased 11% in eight years, with hundreds on 'temporary' contracts.
Union surveys show these workers feel vulnerable and invisible.
We need guidance from Scottish Funding Council setting out such contracts must not be used.
