Last week in Riga, 80 scholars, experts, practitioners, and civil society representatives from the Nordic and Baltic countries met for the second #HROMADA conference. UNHCR's Karolis_Zibas spoke about the importance of participatory approaches for better inclusion of #refugees.

The Baltic countries 🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹 have found different solutions to the reception and integration of Ukrainian refugees. UNHCR & partners organized an exchange seminar between integration practitioners & employers, where they could share their experiences with labor market integration.

“What are the best Nordic socio-cultural integration practices?” Integration Officer Karolis_Zibas met with Swedish and Lithuanian integration experts in Vilnius 🇱🇹 to exchange knowledge and lessons learned. The seminar was part of a Nordic-Baltic capacity building project.

UNHCR and diverse stakeholders participated in discussions in Riga last week about the inclusion of refugees in education. UNHCR shared findings from the latest Socio-Economic Insights Survey to highlight the main needs and challenges for refugee school children in Latvia 📚.

Stockholms stad & Welcome House hosted a delegation of 🇱🇹 integration actors to exchange experiences on socio-cultural orientation courses for refugees. Meetings took place with representatives from the County Administrative Board, Centre for Civic Orientation & Welcome House.

Last week, a delegation of Lithuanian integration actors visited Oslo to learn more about the development of socio-cultural orientation courses for refugees 🇱🇹🇳🇴. The delegation spoke with representatives from Arbeidsdep, Direktoratet for høyere utdanning og kompetanse, and the Norwegian Directorate of Integration.

Today in Riga, UNHCR and partners launched a new inter-agency training programme for 🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹officials on how to work with newcomers.
