So, as you may have seen today, an advert for a reboot of a children's book branded a disability as 'disgusting'. Plenty of discourse already about why this is awful, so rather than add more here's a thread of some books with excellent representation that you could enjoy instead.

But then you decided it was a good idea to offer the “choice”. Not buying this apology, it just enhances how deep ableism is embedded in society. My heart goes out to the children and families affected. I hope “schools across the UK” stand up and say NO to this ridiculous company

This makes me feel sick. How can we value our pupils so little! I hope whomever is responsible for this is held accountable.

It really is little gestures that make students feel included.
-A ‘hello’ or a smile to them.
-Having a voice.
-Sitting at a table with friends.
-Adaptation.
-Independence.
-Encouragement.
-Valued.
-Accepted.
The list can go on and on! ❤️
