It’s official. Nashville x Erbil are Sister Cities. This historic Sister City partnership will focus on cultural and educational exchange, transparency in government, and making lasting connections between the people of Erbil and Nashville. Thank you SCNashville!

Thank you to all of the dedicated Metro Schools faculty, administrators and board, along with all of the enthusiastic students and parents who made yesterday’s celebration of schools at Nissan Stadium so fun and special.

This morning, Deputy Mayor Brenda Haywood and I spent time with volunteers for the National Day of Service and Remembrance - Annual Nashville Meal Pack. Thank you to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee Belmont University and Meal Of Hope for partnering up for this important work.

Thank you Federal Transit Admn for the generous support of the future Antioch Transit Center and to all who came today. Nashville State Community College Nashville Department of Transportation John Cooper myTDOT #nashville #publictransit #rollwithwego #ClimateAction

In November, we shared that every Metro Schools HS would receive a new sports field through our partnership w/ Tennessee Titans + The Foundation for Athletics. Each school received $1m for a field or facilities improvement. We stepped on the new turf field Pearl-Cohn’s 1st home game.

Congratulations to Nashville’s next Mayor, Freddie O’Connell and to the history-making Metro Council. Nashville is ready for you!

And this is how we kick off Hispanic heritage month in Nashville!! 👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼 Hispanic Chamber. Stay tuned for full coverage of this morning official ceremony. John Cooper

Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 - October 15. We kicked off the celebration on Friday with the Hispanic Chamber. We are a stronger and more vibrant city because of the role the Hispanic community plays in the economy, culture, and social fabric of Nashville.

Happy to celebrate our $5 million bus grant to WeGo Public Transit to build the new Antioch Transit Center, connecting Antioch to Nashville and surrounding areas!

I’m excited to join John Cooper for yet another investment in our future. A new Percy Priest Elementary will open in 2025 with a community park coming 1 year later. 700 pre-K - 5th graders will call it home with innovative tools that help teachers succeed in every class.

You can’t have a strong neighborhood without a strong neighborhood school! So thankful our children will get a new Percy Priest Elem school. Much thanks to Metro Schools John Cooper Erin O'Hara Block Freddie O’Connell Senator Heidi Campbell Angie E. Henderson @SandyEwingD34 and the PTO.

One of my final acts as your mayor is to celebrate a new school for our children - the reconstruction of Percy Priest Elementary School. I joined Metro Schools in the commitment to Nashville’s kids, something I know Dr. Battle will continue to do. There’s no better investment.
