#Jèrriais names for cleavers (sticky weed) include ‘fliancouais’ and ‘flianque’, meaning ‘throw’. In #JerseyCI ’s native language, 1 April is ‘lé Jour des Coues’ (the day of the tails). Pranksters would throw cleavers onto someone's back and the sticky plant would resemble a tail.
