Easyjet is grounding 100 of its 344 aircraft across Europe with more schedule reductions to come. An unspecified number of 15,000 staff will be asked to take pay cuts and unpaid leave. CEO says “coordinated government backing is required to ensure the industry survives”.

Everyone needs to shop but this isn't hard: if you can't maintain safe social distance in supermarket, go back another time for your own safety and that of others; if you persist with selfish, irresponsible stockpiling we won't hesitate to take more action to protect community.

Retailers are doing their best but consumers are ignoring social distancing advice. Please keep apart, shop sensibly, only buy what you need and don't all hit the supermarkets first thing. You are putting yourself and our special community at risk.
