Today, 🇩🇰 Minister for Foreign Affairs, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, announced the opening of new embassies, incl Rwanda, as part of the new Strategy for strengthened Danish engagement w. African countries. 🇩🇰will also appoint a Special Rep for Great Lakes to strengthen our engagement🌍

Last Friday, the EITI team met with Jan Sadek (EU in Uganda) in #Uganda 🇺🇬 to discuss support for CSOs on mineral sector governance, esp. #transparency in gold supply chains. We also met with Uganda Chamber of Mines & Petroleum to discuss their role in Uganda EITI. Thanks to all for the great discussions!

🇩🇰 will work in support of a stronger and more effective EU as the key partner for Africa. In the fall of 2025, 🇩🇰 will chair the EU council. Together with the next EU-AU Summit, it will be an ample opportunity for strengthening the dialogue and ties with Africa and Europe🤝
