This will get a tiny correction in the next edition of the paper, seen by a fraction of the people who caught the original headline. Sections of our 'free press' do more harm to our democracy than the efforts of any hostile state

Journalists aren’t exactly among the most loved members of society, but ⁦Sangita Myska⁩ established a rare rapport with her listeners. ⁦LBC⁩ has made a serious error of judgment in silencing her. This petition remains open. change.org/p/reinstate-sa…

Once again, Labour talked the talk, but didn't walk the walk. MSPs backed the Scottish Government in a call for “compensation in full” to be paid to women impacted by state pension inequality. And Labour abstained! #WASPI Campaign

The government rushed through a law in July 2023 giving the Home Secretary a legal duty to refuse these claims.

Few notice the legal duty has not been triggered. Where it is impossible to remove, it would be unlawful to refuse permanently

Sunak shouted out at PMQs that Labour want to take away free TV licenses from pensioners. The Tories have already done that of course. Stupid little man.

Hard to disagree with this. He has always reminded me of the school bully’s sidekick. It amazes me that his party cannot see it. I suspect some of them can.

What waste of time/money & cause of stress to any vulnerable recipient.
Only ~10% of people pay for their prescriptions but some then don’t take all their meds - bureaucracy not cost effective!
Another reason to be glad that, in , are free for everyone!

Just contrast the dignity and humility of Humza Yousaf's resignation speech with Anas Sarwar's brutal and personal attack on the man who is already on his way out.

The willingness with which some commentators have accepted the Conservative spin that the two mayoral contests they are most likely to win are the ones we should all be concentrating on, has been quite instructive

Caring, sharing, allegedly compassionate UK is detaining asylum seekers with a view to sending them to an African country the Supreme Court has deemed unsafe. Ashamed to be called British doesn't begin to cover it.

'As we celebrate 20 years in the EU ... the World Bank forecasts income per capita will be higher in Poland than in the UK in 2025. I promise this: on the 25th anniversary, Poles will be wealthier than the British. It's better to be in the EU !'👇

Earlier this week, work and pensions secretary Mel Stride said that the Personal Independence Payment “is thousands of pounds a month”.

This is incorrect. Those receiving the highest possible weekly amount of PIP get around £800 a month.

At today, Rishi Sunak said “this week we’re cutting taxes by £900 for everyone in work”.

This isn’t correct, for at least two reasons. (1/5)

Have to say, I've long found the trend of realising police bodycam footage of the moment the doorstep people for arrest disgusting and distasteful, but the Home Office releasing their own footage of a deportation raid on someone's home as propaganda has left me incandescent
