Earlier today in Ankara, I had a fruitful meeting with my colleague and brother, Türkiye Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, ahead of the meeting between our two leaders, H.E Samia Suluhu and H.E Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. We’ll sign 8 cooperation agreements during Samia Suluhu State Visit to 🇹🇷.

On invitation by H.E Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, H.E Samia Suluhu will undertake a State Visit to Türkiye from 17/4. 🇹🇷 is now a key source of FDI for 🇹🇿 and market for our goods. The visit will intensify this. She will also meet top 100 Turkish business leaders to pitch them to invest in 🇹🇿.

Earlier today, I officiated a successful commemoration of 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Between Tanzania and China. Our two countries have traveled a distance together, and our friendship has stood the test of time. We are all-weather friends.

Flags raised as UK’s Minister for Development and Africa Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP & I joined to open a new UK High Commission office today in Dodoma. Minister Mitchell used the occasion to announce key partnership initiatives, including tripling of UK’s development resources for Tanzania.

Earlier today, the outgoing Ambassador of Rwanda to Tanzania H.E Fatou Harerimana came to see me to bid farewell. We debriefed on my recent trip to Rwanda. We thank her for her role in strengthening relations between our two countries. We look forward to welcoming her successor.
