An excerpt from a hand drawn and painted map of Rathkeale, Co. #Limerick (1790). The castle referred to was replaced by courthouse/prison ca.1820. Abbey House was home to the Leake family. In all, the town had 341 houses. The land surveyor was Paul Rahilly. He died 22 April 1809.

"Henry 8th and last Earl of Thomond sold Bunratty Castle & Folk Park and 472 acres to Thomas Amory in 1712 for £225 and an annual rent of £120. Amory sold the Castle to Thomas Studdert who took up residence ca.1720." It's very exciting to be holding Thomas Amory's will dated 8 August 1726.
