Investigative work into the historic indoor long jump here, has revealed its earth and sand infill is still present, and usable. The hinged floor folds back to reveal the pit, which was built c.1876.

Congratulations and best wishes to Canon Bob Wilkinson, who celebrated his 103rd birthday on Palm Sunday. Canon Wilkinson was ordained in 1947 to serve as curate in Holy Trinity Church, Catherine St. in city.
