Last week, visitors on the #IVLP project “Countering Disinformation Among Older Adults” attended a virtual workshop with Poynter. Al Thompkins led a discussion on working with older adults to help them tell the difference between reliable and unreliable information sources.

#IVLP participants examining Combatting Trafficking in Persons visited El Paso, Texas and met with officers of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and had the opportunity to participate in a port-of-entry tour. Thanks to El Paso Council for International Visitors for hosting!

During "Approaches to Urban Search and Rescue in the United States," Americans and IVLP participants from Türkiye shared best practices in earthquake response. Program highlights included meetings with the FDNY and MD National Guard.

IVLP participants from Kazakhstan explored themes around ‘Fiscal Transparency’ and visited several local officials across four states. Program highlights included a visit to the Office of the Attorney General in Washington and the New Mexico State Capitol.

This year, 18 European IVLP participants explored current U.S. social, political, and economic issues by visiting several U.S. states including CCWA, Global Minnesota , Santa Fe New Mexico, Tulsa Oklahoma, and WorldOrlando. #ExchangeOurWorld Institute of International Education (IIE)

We joined our Global Ties U.S. colleagues for the 2025 National Meeting, attending sessions and sharing best practices on the theme "Stronger Communities, Stronger Alliances." IIE's, Fred Kitchen, won a Network Honor Award for her outstanding work over the years. Congrats, Fred!

In February, we welcomed IVLP participants from 12 African for the "Trafficking in Persons" program. They visited U.S. cities to meet with experts on prevention and mitigation. Thank you to our community partners at World Affairs Council WACLV Louisville, KY & Columbia, SC!

IIE hosted a IVLP delegation on Trafficking in Persons: Prevention and Mitigation. In DC, they visited the Department of Labor to learn more about federal efforts against child and forced labor. Thank you U.S. Department of Labor for an informative and productive meeting!

Innovation is at the heart of IVLP! The projects Iraq: IP Rights, Laos: Science, Tech, & Innovation, & Indonesia: Advancing Digital Diplomacy all took on innovation through different lenses, equipping visitors with skills & knowledge about fostering creativity & change back home.

Trip highlights included visits to the DEAWashington, Cleveland Clinic quantum computer, and a health workshop in Milwaukee

We recently welcomed an IVLP delegation from Ethiopia focused on University Research Administration. In Cleveland, they explored infectious disease research at Case Western University. Excited for ongoing collaboration between US-Ethiopia. Thanks to CCWA for hosting!

In June, 9 leaders from the Near East & North Africa explored how U.S. cities fuel entrepreneurship & innovation through the IVLP Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development program. From DC➡️Atlanta, they connected with changemakers shaping small business success today!

IIE was honored to join the National Security & Emerging Technologies Summit hosted by Utah Global Diplomacy. Thank you to Global Ties U.S. for opening conversation on how emerging tech impacts national security. IVLP is committed to strengthening our nation through international exchange!

In July, international visitors joined an #IVLP project on "Digital Standards: Fostering Security and Innovation" across four US cities. The group explored how tech leadership and international cooperation promote prosperity. Thanks to GCIV for their warm welcome to Atlanta!

Last month, 5 African professionals joined IVLP to explore hands-on strategies to combat illegal fishing. Their U.S. journey spanned D.C., Oregon (WorldOregon), Ohio (World Affairs Council), Rhode Island & Massachusetts (WorldBoston), building tools & partnerships for change.

Leaders from the Near East & North Africa joined IVLP "Young Leaders RISE" to explore initiatives for engaging youth to drive economic growth. While visiting World Affairs Council of Philadelphia, they met with non-profits, civic organizations, and volunteered with Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia!
