#Afghanistan faces a dire humanitarian crisis with 23.7M in need, 12.4M food insecure & 48% below the poverty line. Funding has sharply decreased compared to previous years, with only 25% of the 2024 $3.06B appeal met. Urgent funds are needed to sustain life-saving programmes.

2023 was the deadliest year on record for humanitarian workers. 2024 could be worse. On #WorldHumanitarianDay, the UN in #Afghanistan joins the global call for the protection of the women & men delivering aid. It’s time for those in power to end impunity and #ActForHumanity.
