If you’re reading this, chances are that you don’t manage professional players. Don’t treat the kids on your team like you’re in a contract dispute with their agent.

Do you really think yelling at a kid about mistakes during a match is going to make them play better? Let me come to your workplace and yell at you while you’re working on spreadsheets.

BAD teams never talk AVERAGE teams talk when they're winning GOOD teams talk often GREAT teams never stop talking CHAMPIONSHIP teams always talk about talking more... in huddles, at halftime, in time outs! -great thoughts via Jon Beck

Don’t get bitter, get better…coach. If you’re not the right fit, maybe that’s a good thing but maybe that’s a bad thing? Never bad to reevaluate your program.

If it has “Elite” in the title your kids are guaranteed a college scholarship. In fact, the more money you spend the better the offer…that’s how it works right? Come on, do better.

If you want to earn minutes and make a difference on the field…you have to do it in PRACTICE first. Player: Play me and I’ll show you Coach: Show me and I’ll play you Coach always wins this battle.

True "highlight" videos are an entire game. 💿 allows a coach to see your body language, how you communicate to your teammates, how you recover from a mistake, and provides a full picture into who you are as a player and person. Coaches recruit the person, not just the player.

Maybe the difference is the type of coach that you play for at the youth level. Are they demanding but not demeaning and make you love the game? Do they make you train at match speed intensity? It’s not the acronyms. It’s the education that you get.

Winning isn’t the point. Wanting to win is the point. Not giving up is the point. Never letting up is the point. Never being satisfied with what you’ve done is the point. The game is never over. The secret of the game is in doing your best. To persist & endure. ~Pat Head Summitt

Yearly reminder that overloading players in preseason (2x per day) does more harm than good. Contrary to popular belief, players who are unfit need to do LESS and gradually re-build fitness. Overload too much too soon, and you'll quickly have a preseason disrupted by injuries!

3 yrs. ago I saw a young recruit smiling and playing as hard as she could. She loved the game!! Fast forward ⏩ to now when she rarely smiles when playing because of the stress the recruitment process has brought. Recruits never lose sight of the love you had for the game.
