Years ago, I met someone who worked in the city of Vancouver's planning department. I don't remember her name, but I haven't forgotten how angry she made me when she told me 'actually, there is no such thing as the housing crisis'.

LA figured out an extremely clever hack to make building BMR homes attractive to for-profit developers. They rushed in. They all said “I’m greedy and I’m doing this for profits.” Everyone was winning. It was awesome.

Suddenly “left” NIMBYs like “ohh stop this we’re concerned!”

To combat a growing public perception they are anti-housing, the Coastal Commission is hosting a seminar on fair housing in the coast next month. Will you join me in commenting that their opposition to AB 2560 (affordable housing incentives in the coast) harms fair housing there?

Do NOT vote for this NIMBY bullshit running for Berkeley City Council if you ever want to afford to live in Berkeley or have safe streets for walking and cycling. She lives in a multi-million dollar single-family home and opposes new housing and bike lines. Go away.
