It was great to speak with Archie Henderson (Archie Henderson) of Paisley Museum about the Viking-Age Elderslie Cross on the Govan Early Medieval Podcast for the The Govan Stones βš”πŸ›‘πŸ‘‘. Fascinating insights and (no pun intended) cross-cultural parallels abound!

A remarkable 1940 find from the Trimontium fort complex in Scotland: A counterfeit coin mould! 'One face of the coin made in this mould was from a denarius of around AD 199, the other is a reverse of a coin minted 70-75 years later' (Trimontium Trust).

A great museum!

From a pig playing bagpipes to what I presume is either the Cromwellian damage or the battle scars from the previous century, Melrose Abbey in the Scottish Borders has it all (if, admittedly, you like the rather niche world of Animals x Scottish Music + Conflict Archaeology).
