I am a nurse who has survived serious suicide attempts thanks to the The Cassel Hospital Charitable Trust and staff West London NHS Trust (making a mention to mental health nurses), who never gave up; held the beacon of hope and helped me grieve, heal and grow, until I was able to take back my hope. HOPE.

Today I became a Fellow of the Royal School of Needlework. I am being open about having Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder and being sectioned, to fight stigma, but recieving this today reminded me that we are more then our diagnosis and our job - we are unique humans.

Disclosing Serious mental illness should be a choice. Hiding my mental illness means hiding where I met my husband,we met at the Cassel hospital. Stigma should not be a reason for me not sharing where & how I met my husband, hiding that is heartbreaking 💔.

It was many people who helped me out of the psychological trap I was in. In heathcare how do we come together to support someone? Rather then solely sitting in our separate professions, how do we learn together & support one another in our roles? Togetherness saved my life.

We are pleased that mental health was highlighted in the King’s Speech today. His Majesty said that mental health must be given the same attention and focus as physical health. Our mission is to focus on the mental health of NHS staff. 1 in 4 doctors have a mental illness and 2

400 views, but most haven't seen it. 2 hours on issues for #MentalHealth nursing and education. Worth knowing about this, otherwise the profession will disappear in front of our very eyes. #MHDeservesBetter youtu.be/iBblQygAizs
