Followed by Day 3 with a visit to the Freedom Museum at Groesbeek. Finishing with the freedom wall and its questions about what freedom is, what threatens it and how do we protect it.

A couple of group shots from yesterday and today's 'final day' trip to Dunkirk. A wonderful tour from Emmanuel and a reflective visit to the memorial cemetery there.

A brilliant first day of the LS1 Humanities Trip up to Yorkshire. First of all a visit to York Minster, then the incomparable Jorvik Centre, finishing with dinner in the Georgian Assembly Rooms (now an ASK Italian) and bowling! Day Two is off to the seaside!

We had a fabulous day yesterday exploring Flamborough Head and Bridlington on our LS1 Humanities trip. We saw hundreds of seals, created field sketches of the ‘Drinking Dinosaur’, and conducted field work on the beach. Excellent work all round!

This morning we have been to the beautiful Fountains Abbey, a monastery closed in the 16th century under Henry VIII. We learned about the life of a monk in the Abbey, and also got to experience a northern downpour!

We had a wonderful time in Yorkshire last week with Haileybury History. Drawing field sketches at The Drinking Dinosaur at Flamborough Head was one of the many highlights. Check out Dr Koon’s very impressive effort (he knows he still needs to add his labels and annotations!).

We’ve had a fantastic day in Amsterdam on the Removes history trip. The weather has been blissful and we’ve enjoyed a wonderful canal cruise (complete with ice creams)!

Now onto the history…. We started the day with a moving and insightful tour of the Jewish cultural quarter where we saw ‘stumbling stones’. We then walked across the city to visit the Anne Frank house, allowing the pupils to experience the conditions in which Anne lived.

Coach 2 have had a fantastic morning exploring the Airborne Museum at Hartenstein. They enjoyed the immersive experience that replicated parts of Operation Market Garden, and of course enjoyed looking at the military vehicles outside!

Today we added an impromptu visit to Germany, visiting the Commonwealth War Cemetery at Reichswald Forest. The pupils were amazed by the scale and had a chance to wander and remember the sacrifice of troops in WW2.

On our last evening in Rotterdam, the Removes battled to be crowned the winning house team in our history quiz (whilst eating pizza!). Batten were victorious and have won a takeaway to celebrate their excellent knowledge. Thank you to Mr Davies for hosting!

On our way back home this afternoon we visited Dunkirk. Our tour guide gave the pupils a fantastic insight into the French perspective of the evacuation, and we were moved to visit the memorials to the fallen there.
