Today marks the end of my term as High Sheriff of Gwent. It has been an immense honour to serve this vibrant County. Thanks to everyone who supported our efforts to enrich communities. As I pass the role to Helen, I look forward to continuing to advocate for Gwent in new ways.

Enjoyed a truly enriching evening at the Newport Yemeni Centre for Iftar and prayers. Grateful for the warm hospitality and impressed by the new facilities. The love and respect shown to all by Reggie Al-Haddi and the NYA team is an example to us all.

We recently gathered to honour outstanding service at the HMP Usk and Prescoed awards ceremony. Prison officers' dedication and commitment to maintaining safety and facilitating rehabilitation deserve our appreciation. Thank you for your efforts in keeping our communities secure.

'I visited the Senghenydd Youth Drop-In Centre today and was impressed by the work of the team. Their dedication to providing a creative space for some lovely young people is truly commendable. I am grateful for their sterling efforts in supporting and inspiring our youth.

We just experienced the hospitality of everyone at the Islamic Society For Wales, Qasr E Abu Talib (AS) Mosque in Newport during Iftari. It was a beautiful way to celebrate Ramadan and share in the spirit of togetherness. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn and connect.
