Today’s #Archive30 is #MiniMilestones which is our new timeline! It had been planned for so long so we were excited when it went up in September detailing the school’s long history and showing some of our amazing archive items!

Today’s #Archive30 is #TypicalDay ….there isn’t one! We could be answering enquiries one day, cleaning moth frass the next, teaching, filming for a tv series, meeting former pupils, helping authors and volunteers, creating videos, exhibitions and social media …the list goes on!

Today’s #Archive30 is #SomethingNew and that’s definitely our new museum and archive space! We are still adding to it but pupils and visitors are welcome to browse through the digital magazines, watch the stories of our WW1/2 former pupils and read about the school’s long history

Today’s #Archive30 topic is #ColourfulArchives there have been swimming classes Hutchesons' Grammar since 1879 for both boys and girls. Water polo was also played against other teams. These tiny girls’ swimming membership cards came in a variety of different colours for each year

Today’s #Archive30 theme is #WhereYouStarted and it all started in 1641. Our founders, George and Thomas Hutcheson, left provision for a hospital and school. Thomas held the office for the Register of Sasines in Glasgow so would have know all about the management of records!

Today's #Archive30 theme is #WhereYouStarted . We started as part of Wolves Libraries Central Library until we became a separate entity under the very competent first archivist Liz Rees in 1978. Going onwards and upwards ever since! ARA Scotland

It’s #Archive30 Today’s theme is #WhereYouStarted Our archivist studied Information Management and Digital Preservation UofG Information Studies There are many routes now into the archive than just the traditional degree route and many archivists have very diverse backgrounds!

It’s the first day of #Archive30 and it’s #YourArchive we are always telling pupils, past and current, “the archive is YOUR archive to use, learn and discover”. They support it by donating 300 items a year and we continue to work towards many great projects #HutchieHistory

A remarkable Hutchesonian, who will be missed by many.

We celebrate our Hutchie women every day in the school museum, both our former pupils and staff. Former teacher Margaret Black was a well-known cookery book author. Her daughter took over teaching when she died and many Hutchie girls went on to study at their cookery school
