We are really please to have our paper on Long Covid subtypes out today in Nature Immunology. This project worked with PHOSP-COVID study cohort to delve into what is different in those with persistent symptoms. nature.com/articles/s4159…

It is not unkind to ask what specific role a PA brings to the table

Being a “valued member of the MDT” is not an answer

Everyone is a valued member of the MDT!

The meaning behind the question is:

**by PAs being there, whose role are they just directly replacing?**

Last week Royal College of Physicians NHS England : PAs are not doctors and must not replace doctors

Yet even in 2017 PA census showed half of PAs replaced doctors on medical rotas often or sometimes - Royal College of Physicians knew it - this graph was on their website

This is very poor Royal College of Physicians and in itself is approaching a resignation matter: misleading and badly presented

The FRCPs at EGM have thousands of original research papers between them and I can be sure none of them would have presented this quite so appallingly
